Artist, graphic decorator and architect, John Graz arrived in Brazil in 1920 from Geneva, Switzerland where he studied Fine Arts. Graz, who was a great draftsman, he worked primarely in interior architecture creating furniture and sculptures. He designed all the accessories for his projects. The concept underlying his work was a synthesis of arts, including painting, which he applied whether decorating the interiors of high class residences or designing lamps or jewels or sculptural pieces. His furniture design was stylistically close to rationalism and to the Scandinavian Design school. He left many beautiful drawings of furniture, sculpture and accessories.
