Johannes Andersen

Johannes Andersen was born in Denmark in 1903. In 1922 Johannes Andersen finishes his apprenticeship receives his certificate as a skilled cabinet maker. He works for several years in various workshops. In the middle of the 1930′s (Bs Andersen starts his own architectural workshop. Danish furniture began to be internationally known. Johannes also got appointments with Swedish and Norwegian furniture factories. Johannes Andersen designed several pieces for the Swedish furniture manufacturer Trensum. For Trensum he designed a series of coffee tables in organic shapes made of rosewood and teak. His sofa and sofa-table series “Capri” is amongst his most sought-after designs. Johannes Andersen best known designs are coffee and dining tables. He dies in 1997.
