Max Ingrand
Max Ingrand was born in France in 1908. Gruber’s student, he is one of the most renowned designer in French stained glass in the second half of the twentieth century. Max Ingrand’s technique and his design skills allowed him to produce important artworks in France and abroad. From 1948 to 1952 he produced 43 stain glass windows for the Nôtre Dame du Pré at Le Mans cathedral. In 1954 he designed some of the glass windows of the Chenonceau Castle. Max Ingrand is also famous for his stain glass decorations made for the Normandie transatlantic liner. In 1954 he became FontanaArte‘s Art Director and has designed a number of lamps such as the table lamp Fontana, which is still being produced today.
