Tage Klint & Aage Peters
The origin of the Danish lighting producer Le Klint traces back to the ancestor P.V. Jensen Klint. He needed an appropriate shade for a stoneware oil lamp, and invented a shade made of folded paper. 40 years later the son of P.V. Jensen Klint, Tage Klint (1884-1953), took the shade into production under the company name of LE KLINT in 1943. Tage Klint added new features to the classical shades and added a number of new lamps that have been part of Le Klints assortment since. The timeless designs of Le Klint have experienced a real revival in recent years. Aage Petersen (Denmark 1902-1982) was a trained sculptor from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. His naturalistic sculptural works covered many different themes. His principal work is the Fakse Monument produced in 1938. Aage Petersen also produced wall decorations for Copenhagen Zoo and designed lamps, including many for LE KLINT and other lighting companies.
