Kaare Klint
Kaare Klint was born in Denmark in 1888 and is considered the pioneer of Danish 290th century furniture design. Kaare Klint’s believe was that the study of classical furniture, materials, proportions and construction made the best base for creating new designs. The design of Kaare Klint is always based on relentless research and every piece must fulfil its purpose and display materials and craftmanship of the highest quality. One of his most famous models is the “Faaborg Chair” from 1914 with clear reference to classical furniture. Later famous work by Klint is the “Red chair” from 1927, “Safari chair” from 1933 and the “Deck chair”. manufactured by Rud. Rasmussen. Klint was a lecturer in furniture design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1924. His style is defined by clean, pure lines, the use of the best materials and superb craftsmanship. Klint dies in 1954.
